Day 1: Arrival - Varanasi Sightseeing
The tour starts
with pickup from airport or railway station and escorts you to the pre-booked
hotel. The rest of the day until evening is free. You can take up leisure walks
or shopping around the hotel. By sunset, you will be taken to Dashashwamedh
Ghat to enjoy Ganga Aarti. Ganga Aarti takes place every evening along the
banks of the river. It is a ritual filled with interesting activities done to
please River Ganges and God of Fire. If you were a photo-enthusiast, you would
love this ritual. The ghat will generally be crowded and you can choose to hire
a boat and watch the ritual from the river. Night stay in Varanasi.
Day 2: Varanasi – Sarnath – Varanasi
Before
breakfast, you will be taken on a boat ride on the river Ganges to enjoy the
rising sun, rituals along the side of the river and the ghats. There are 88
ghats in Varanasi and each one is famous for one element. It is not possible to
cruise along all the 88 ghats. The cruise will cover all top ghats. Once you
land on the shore, you will be taken on a temple tour. Early morning is the
right time to visit temples as it is the time of rituals. Top temples chosen
are Kashi Vishwanath temple, Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple, Bharat Mata temple,
Annapurna temple, BHU and Manas Mandir. After the temple tour, you will be
escorted to the hotel for breakfast and rest.
By early
afternoon, you will be taken on a road trip to Sarnath. Sarnath is just 15 km
away from Varanasi. You will reach Saranth in just 30 minutes. You will be
taken on a trip that covers main Buddha temples, Chaukhandi stupa, Dhamekha
stupa, museum and others. The museum contains Artifacts, statues, arts and
others
You will be
taken back to Varanasi by evening and the rest of the day is yours. You can
take up shopping in Varanasi or go for sightseeing on your own. Top items to
buy in Varanasi are deity statues, brass works, Banaras silk material, incense
items and others. Overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 3: Varanasi - Ayodhya
After
breakfast, you will take up a five-hour trip to reach Ayodhya. Ayodhya is the
place, which was ruled by Lord Ram, according to legends. Lord Ram was born
here and he spent a part of his childhood here. The Ayodhya city is an
important pilgrim spot. Gogra River runs along the city and it is said that
bathing in the river will wash out even the deadliest sin. Although an
important part of Hindu religion, the city had many other religions spreading
in it, simultaneously like Jainism, Buddhism and others. According to Jains,
the first Tirthankara was born here. You will be taken to the birthplace of
Lord Ram and to Saryu River for bathing and sightseeing. Overnight stay in
Ayodhya.
Day 4: Ayodhya – Allahabad – Varanasi
After breakfast
in the hotel, you will take up a road trip to Allahabad. Allahabad lies 200 km
away from Ayodhya and it takes 4 hours to reach. Once you reach Allahabad, you
will be escorted to a pre-booked hotel. After lunch, the sightseeing starts.
Top spots visited are Sangam, Hanuman temple, Swaraj Bhawan, Anand Bhawan and
others. Sangam is the spot where River Saraswati, Yamuna and Ganga join. The
spot is a wide flood plain where you can find people performing rituals. If
desired, you can bath in Sangam. Overnight stay in Varanasi
Day 5: Departure
After
breakfast, the rest of the morning is free for leisure sightseeing or souvenir
shopping. Later, you will be dropped off at airport or railway station at
Varanasi or Allahabad as per your itinerary. If you desire to stay back in
Allahabad and continue your tour, it is up to you.
